Colhelper is a service of the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle intended for the scientific community.
The service makes it possible to record, via the Web, a request concerning the collections of specimens : loans, visits, sampling, etc. Once the request is recorded one can follow its evolution on-line until its acceptance (or refusal) by the curators of the Muséum's collections.
If you do not yet have an account with this service, the first step is to
create one
by providing the requested information concerning yourself and your organization. You will then receive, by e-mail, a password that will allow you to identify yourself on this page.
The Muséum does not guarantee to treat requests that arrive by other means.
For type specimens, loan conditions have changed in 2018.
Access to Reptiles and Amphibians collections is entirely suspended until April 2023.

MNHN is currently in the process of reviewing the provenance of human remains held in its collections. Our goal is to make sure that all relevant ethical guidelines regarding the conservation and scientific study of human remains, many of which stem from colonial contexts. While this process is ongoing, access to the biological anthropology collections will be restricted, pending the outcome of our research.
For additional information on possible access, you may contact: Martin Friess (martin.friess [ at ] mnhn.fr).
